Sam Ponder - 4th Trumpet

Sam Ponder received his bachelor's degree in music education from Arkansas Tech University in 1977. After teaching and performing in Little Rock, AR, Louisville, KY, and Chicago, IL for a number of years, he entered the Indiana University School of Music graduate program where he earned a doctorate degree in Brass Pedagogy in 1992.

Dr. Ponder's performance experiences include symphonic orchestra performances, jazz big bands and combos, Dixieland bands, brass quintets, salsa bands, and solo performances in a variety of settings. Dr. Ponder also performs frequently in early music chamber ensembles in which he plays cornetto and recorder.
